Oct 30, 2011 Storage & Backup is obviously for backup, not to sync device address book with address book at iCloud.com Refresh button seems to only download changes from iCloud (so it's to be used when push is off) but doesn't upload changes to iCloud. May 27, 2013 I recently lost all my 814 contacts due to a Fb/iPhone 4/ios5 problem and it was only the lack of instant automatic syncing that saved me from total loss! I currently have a PC, iPhone, iPad setup and am thinking of changing the PC for a Mac. Along with this I was planning to switch from syncing to iTunes via USB to using the iCloud service.
